Since Fant is out, I’m leaning Ebron. Change my mind.
Is your league PPR or non-PPR? That might be the difference.
However, I think you’re right. Ebron is the “smart” play. But it’s razor thin.
In the last three games Ebron has played 75% or more of PIT off snaps and had 5 or more targets in those same games. He has a high end TE2 floor supported further as Diontae Johnson is out for week 6. Ebron ceiling is a high TE1 with CLE giving up 8th most fantasy points to Tight Ends after 5 games.
Mike Gesicki is much more of a boom/bust play. His ceiling is the TE1. In game two against Buffalo this year he had 11 targets and 8 receptions for 130 yards and a score. Up against the Jets in week 6, which would project to be less competitive than a game against BUF (Loss 28-31), one would expect a positive game script.
In a really tough match up, I might close my eyes and click submit on Gesicki.
Non of this prob helps you. Sorry!!
It’s supposed to be a close matchup for me this week. Losing Dak hurt. I’m playing Fitz at QB so I’ve considered stacking him with Gesicki.
But my thought is that with the way the Browns have been playing, that game could be very high-scoring and Ebron will be targeted way more.
Oh also, I have Big Ben. Maybe I should stack the Pitt QB/TE
Oh and PPR.
