How to Tackle 20 Team Draft

Doing a 20 team redraft league with some friends and it is going to be somewhat casual, so having a thought out strategy is going to be very beneficial.

Some other important details: PPR, 6 pt / passing touchdown, defensive scoring more rewarding towards big plays than tackles, Offense: QB/2RB/2WR/TE/FLEX, Defense: DT/2EDGE/2LB/3DB.

So…a few questions:

  1. How does the value of QBs change? Not sure if the larger league size increases or decreases value with the premium on passing TDs.

  2. Worth it to take a top TE at the end of the first round, or it is better to fade the position?

  3. I’m assuming just take IDP players later on in the draft since they score less?

  4. Any other deviations from “normal” drafts to be aware of?

  1. QB matters immensely with 30% of the league likely not having a back up, and there being a big drop off in quality from the top third to the bottom third.

  2. Punt TE unless Kelce falls to the late second.

  3. Yes, wait on IDP’s.

  4. Don’t get caught on the end of a QB or a TE run. You don’t want to be scrambling on that position.
