Share What Opening Day Means to You

After smoking approximately a pack a day for 27 years, I had two cigarettes on the NFL’s opening Sunday in 2009–and never had another.

The NFL season opener is the second most important sporting event of the year - #1 being the Super Bowl - that doesn’t involve one of my home teams (Detroit/Michigan).

Don’t care about the outcome. Don’t even really care if I’m entertained (though Tampa/Dallas was a pleasure to watch).

I do care about the next six months that the game represents.

Man, I missed it.

It IS the greatest team sport ever invented.
