Trade picks 1.2 and 5.2 for 2.4, 3.9, and 4.4? 12 team ppr

Lose my 1st round pick, but have 2 picks per round 2-4

Should I keep my first round pick or trade?

I wouldn’t trade away my 1st round pick, especially at the top. Having one of those top 4 RBs is such a difference maker. Making the trade would be like trading (based on current ADP):
1.2 - Barkley, Zeke, Kamara, McCaffrey (whoever you like best from them)
5.2 - Drake, Lockett, Rodgers, Howard (whoever you like best from them)
for
2.4 - Beckham, D. Williams (whoever you like best from them)
3.9 - Thielen, Jacobs, Ertz (whoever you like best from them)
4.4 - Michel, Diggs, Luck (whoever you like best from them)

No, the draft is so top heavy with the first 3 picks. If that wasn’t the case it would be close (with you losing out slightly), but I think it’s better to hold the 2nd overall.

all values pulled from here:
https://fantasyfootballcalculator.com/adp/ppr

CMC (1.2)/Cooper Kupp(5.2)
Cook(2.4)/Kerryon(3.9)/cooks(4.4)…

this is the trade in a vacum but this is what it looks like over 5 rounds (used 14 round as the waiver adds)

A: CMC (1.2)/ Julio (1.9)/ Kupp (5.2)/ Sony (5.9)/ John brown (waiver add)/Matt breida (wavier add)

B: Cook (2.4)/Chubb (2.11)/Hilton (3.2)/ Kerryon (3.9)/ Cooks(4.4)/ Godwin(4.11)

As good as the Stud RBS are you would have some massive depth advantages and based on the quality of players in the 2-4 rounds this year I would take the deal. I would rather roll out team B then team A.
Only exception would be if you play in a standard roster setup 2 rb 2wr 1 flex… then your depth is negated more and I would take the premier player.

Thing is, he isn’t picking between Team A and Team B in that scenario. The two teams he would be picking between would be
Team A: (2.4) - Cook, (2.11) - Chubb/K. Allen, (3.2) - Hilton/A. Jones/Mahomes, (3.9) - Kerryon/Diggs , (4.4) - Cooks/Montgomery , (4.11) -Godwin
Team B: (1.2) - CMC/Kamara, (2.11) - Chubb/K. Allen, (3.2) - Hilton/A. Jones/Mahomes, (4.11) -Godwin, (5.2) - Kupp/J. White

Give me team B with CMC or Kamara in a ppr league any day, especially if it is a standard roster format of 2RB, 2WR, 1FLEX, which we have no reason to believe otherwise until noted.

The 1 extra draft pick in rounds 2-4 is not enough for me to give up such a huge advantage of a top 2 pick in ppr and a 5th round pick.

Sorry for the delay!

This is correct the layout is 2rb 2wr and 1 flex, and those were my thoughts exactly on why I was leaning towards not making the trade. I think with it only being 2,2,1 and not 2,3,1 It makes that 1 extra pick less of a difference.

I would essentially be starting a 4th round as flex instead of a 5th and the difference between cmc and my pick 2.4 is gonna be bigger than my difference, if there even is one, between pick 4.4 and 5.2

Again thanks a ton for the info!!!

Team A ( no trade)
1.2Christian McCaffrey, CAR
2.11Mike Evans, TB
3.2Zach Ertz, PHI
4.11Tyler Lockett, SEA
5.2Phillip Lindsay, DEN
6.11Mark Ingram, BAL
7.2Rashaad Penny, SEA
8.11Dede Westbrook, JAC
9.2Curtis Samuel, CAR
10.11Devin Funchess, IND
11.2Jameis Winston, TB
12.11Jared Goff, LAR
13.2Matt Breida, SF
14.11Chris Herndon IV, NYJ
15.2Jamaal Williams, GB

Team B(trade 1&5 for 2,3,4)
2.4 JuJu
2.11Mike Evans, TB
3.2 Zach Ertz, PHI
3.9 Freeman
4.4 K Johnson
4.11Tyler Lockett, SEA
5.2Phillip Lindsay, DEN

What if I can do 1.2 7.2 swap 9.2 for 9.9 for the 2.4,3.9,4.4

So id keep my 5th and 6th

Still wouldn’t do it. Losing too much talent trading away the 1.2 spot and not getting a 1st round pick in return. If you were trading the 1.2 and like a 3rd to get the 1.9 and a 2nd, I would think about it. But you are missing out on too much top tier talent by not having a 1st round pick. With your first pick being at 2.4, the top level talent you are looking at to start your team with would be someone like Dalvin Cook or Antonio Brown. The drop off between the first pick being in the 2nd vs the 1st is huge. Look at the 1st three picks between trade vs no trade.
Trade: pick 1 - (2.4) Dalvin Cook, pick 2 - (2.11) Keenan Allen, pick 3 - (3.2) Aaron Jones, pick 4 - (3.9) Stefon Diggs
No Trade: pick 1 - (1.2) CMC, pick 2 (2.11) Keenan Allen, pick 3 - (3.2) Aaron Jones, pick 4 - (4.11) Chris Godwin

Sure, you might get a little bit more depth talent wise in the early to mid rounds, but you lose out on that elite talent. Give me the 4 players on the no trade team to start my team any day.

Ya, I it doesn’t look too good when it looks like that. LOL

I do think with pick 2.4 and 3.9 I can get players closer to JuJu, Hill, OBJ & Freeman, mack diggs

I wouldnt go rb with the 2.4 pick unless connor or gurley fall. I think guys like freeman, jones, johnson have just a good chance at smoking cook.

Trade: pick 1 - (2.4) JUJU , pick 2 - (2.11) Keenan Allen, pick 3 - (3.2) Ertz, pick 4 - (3.9) Freeman
No Trade: pick 1 - (1.2) CMC, pick 2 (2.11) Keenan Allen, pick 3 - (3.2) Aaron Jones, pick 4 - (4.11) Chris Godwin

Which I do like better than no trade
